چکیده

We study the $T$-dual completion of four-dimensional $\mathcal{N}=1$ type II effective potentials in presence (non)geometric fluxes. First, we invoke a cohomology version transformations among various moduli, axions, and fluxes appearing IIA IIB supergravities. This leads to some useful observations about significant mixing standard NS-NS with on mirror side. Further, using our $T$-duality rules, establish an explicit mapping $F$ terms, $D$ tadpole conditions, Bianchi identities two theories. Second, propose what call set ``axionic flux polynomials,'' which depend all axionic moduli subsequently helps present scalar concise manifestly form, can be directly utilized for phenomenological purposes, as illustrate couple examples.

Nongeometric Flux Compactifications

We investigate a simple class of type II string compactifications which incorporate nongeometric “fluxes” in addition to “geometric flux” and the usual H-field and R-R fluxes. These compactifications are nongeometric analogues of the twisted torus. We develop T-duality rules for NS-NS geometric and nongeometric fluxes, which we use to construct a superpotential for the dimensionally reduced fou...

Lectures on Nongeometric Flux Compactifications

These notes present a pedagogical review of nongeometric flux compactifications. We begin by reviewing well-known geometric flux compactifications in Type II string theory, and argue that one must include nongeometric “fluxes” in order to have a superpotential which is invariant under T-duality. Additionally, we discuss some elementary aspects of the worldsheet description of nongeometric backg...

Axion Stabilization in Type IIB Flux Compactifications

A scenario for stabilization of axionic moduli fields in the context of type IIB Calabi-Yau flux compactifications is discussed in detail. We consider the case of a Calabi-Yau orientifold with h − 6= 0 which allows for the presence of B2 and C2moduli. In an attempt to generalize the KKLT and the Large Volume Scenario, we show that these axions can also be stabilized some already at tree level, ...

Self-Dual Nonsupersymmetric Type II String Compactifications

It has recently been proposed that certain nonsupersymmetric type II orbifolds have vanishing perturbative contributions to the cosmological constant. We show that techniques of Sen and Vafa allow one to construct dual type II descriptions of these models (some of which have no weakly coupled heterotic dual). The dual type II models are given by the same orbifolds with the string coupling S and...

Flux Compactifications: Stability and Implications for Cosmology

We study the dynamics of the size of an extra-dimensional manifold stabilised by fluxes. Inspecting the potential for the 4D field associated with this size (the radion), we obtain the conditions under which it can be stabilised and show that stable compactifications on hyperbolic manifolds necessarily have a negative fourdimensional cosmological constant, in contradiction with experimental obs...
